The present study aimed to develop and validate the Religious Attitude Scale, in order to provide an instrument that measures the religious attitudes of believers in a theistic religion. A nonprobabilistic sample of 1,982 people was assessed, 56.7% of them were women, and they were 29-years old in average. The final scale comprised 17 Likert-type items, yielded a Cronbach α equal to .94, and the variance explained by a single dimension was equal to 55.9%. The findings indicate that the Religious Attitude Scale has suitable psychometric properties. However, further research is needed to find support for the validity of the Religious Attitude Scale in samples of people from different religions.
