EVALUATION OF THE PERCEPTION OF EDUCATION IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND LIFE STYLES OF STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TOLIMA

Introduction: The research work, characterizes the current status of the actions in health promotion offered by the University of Tolima to undergraduate students’ program in Medicine, Nursing and bachelor's degree in Physical Education in the face-to-face modality of the University of Tolima, as these students who by the curriculum of their programs, are the ones who receive health promotion components, and how these actions have influenced the living habits of the community. Objective: To describe the perception of students in the face-to-face undergraduate area belonging to the Nursing, Medicine and Physical Education programs; the educational actions in health promotion offered by the University of Tolima, and how they have influenced the acquisition or non-acquisition of healthy habits. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study, research was taken on the following variables: perception of health promotion, university office, accident rate, tobacco consumption, alcohol/psychoactive substances, feeding, sexual and reproductive health; the study was applied to 323 students, the information collected was entered into the application of the INFOSTAT statistical software. The research was conducted between 2013 and 2014. Results and Conclusions. The data found are a starting point for the implementation and strengthening of health programs, such as Healthy University and other projects that allow the participation of all the states and the consolidation of ties with other institutions that are a reference frame in these issues.Downloads
