The master Enrique Gajardo, driven by his love for the Performing Arts and educational broadcasting, caused a “cultural explosion”
in Chillán from 1940 to 1999. By creating the Institute for Cultural Extension of Chillán (INECUCH), he was determined to educate a static and retrograde community through the communication power of broadcasting. Meanwhile, since 1951, through the Theater of the University of Chile-Chillán, he created a true “theatrical powerhouse” from the Shaefer Hall, representing classical and contemporary works, sowing “seeds that continue to germinate”.
