The International Drama in Education Research Institute (IDIERI) is one of the leading global academic gatherings in the field of Applied
Theatre. In this note, we offer a general analysis of the eleventh edition of IDIERI, held in June 2025 in Vancouver, Canada, under the
title “Roots and Routes.” We had the opportunity to participate and present as Teatro a Pulso, a Chilean-based Applied Theatre in Health
group. Reviewing the conference program and our experiences attending various presentations, workshops, and panel discussions,
we identify key themes and some challenges that persist in this important event.
