The text consists of a rewrite of the paper presented at the Colloquium on Performing Arts and Theater Studies held in January
2025 at GAM. Within the framework of a panel that invited reflection on the relationship between theater and contingency, the text
proposes a preamble based on a story by Eduardo Galeano that invites us to consider the historicity and political nature of theater.
It then unfolds five speculative topics that link theater and: events, world, era, ideology, and history.
