ENTEPACH: a 30 años de una trayectoria teatral regional
Abstract
n 1994, the Teatro Magisterio de Chillán (temachi) company created the «Chillán Amateur Theater Encounter» (entepach). This festival is held annually, though its dates vary. It is supported by the Municipality of Chillán and the newspaper La Discusión, among other institutions. In addition to offering a diverse program of Chilean plays, entepach provides theater workshops for teachers and the general public and recognizes theater artists (directors, actors, playwrights) with the «Enrique Gajardo Velásquez» Award (since 1995). Over the years, the festival changed its name, becoming the «Chillán International Amateur Theater Encounter» in 2000. Since then, companies from Portugal, Switzerland, France, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, and other countries have participated. This research aims to systematize part of entepach’s history. To this end, we will focus on the festival’s editions from 2022 to 2024, using primary sources such as posters, programs, interviews with key figures, and local press coverage from each period. The results of this research will contribute to preserving the memory of a festival that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2024.Keywords:
